The new Windows Phone ad promises to “save us from our phones.” I don’t think a mobile UI will save us - even a Windows UI. ;)
I know i know — it’s just an ad…I shouldn’t get too bent out of shape about this. But I really think the issue they highlight here *is* a problem. Even in our home, we’re trying to create restrictions on how/when we’re on our phones.
“Be here now” is correct — but the answer isn’t a new phone. It’s a matter of realizing that the people sitting across from you at the table are more valuable that whatever the latest urgency is you’re phone is beeping about.
